Summary: Inspired by the untimely loss of someone close to Shape History we wanted to create a piece for Christmas 2017 that ensures the many families facing their first Christmas since losing a loved one, don’t have to do so alone. Together with children’s hospice, Shooting Star Chase, we launched the alternative Christmas ad. #FirstChristmas
Emote: Exploring the themes of bereavement and personal loss, this film told the moving story of a heartbroken father who is struggling to come to terms with the passing of his son due to cancer. In a time of great need his wife and daughter pull together to create a festive surprise providing a heart-warming conclusion.
Educate: From the video the audience were directed to Shooting Star Chase’s website. The popularity of this film saw the hospice have their highest level of Unique Visitors of the year.
Action: With increase in visitors Shooting Star Chase also saw an increase in donations.
Result: This film has been one of the most positively received in our history touching hundreds of thousands of people over the festive period. Ultimately, the video received 1,213,000 views and 17, 696 shares across all formats.
