The Role:

Shape History is looking for candidates with over 3+ years of experience across marketing and communications,  some of which have been at an agency, charity, or social impact organisation, to become our new Campaign Manager (Edinburgh).

Are you the type of person who thrives on making things happen, driving meaningful projects forward while building strong relationships? Do you have an inquisitive mind and don’t shy away from asking tough questions to understand partners’ needs (we call our clients ‘partners’) and turning them into successful campaigns? Are you curious, strategic, and passionate about all things communications? If that sounds like you, you might be just who we’re looking for.

Hello! We’re Shape History,  the social impact communications agency based in London. We work with our partners –  charities, businesses, UN bodies, academic institutions, philanthropic organisations –  on some of the biggest issues facing humanity today, from Climate Change to Gender Equality, Digital Health to Human Rights.

We’re a full service agency and team up with our partners – think charities, businesses, UN groups, academic brains, and big-hearted folks aiming to make the world better. As a Campaign Manager, you’re not just managing projects, you’re creating impact. You’ll be the go-to for our partners, making sure their ideas turn into reality, on time and within the budget. The successful candidate will be a natural problem solver who can not only manage projects, but be an integral part in forming and developing our partnerships.  You will join our Edinburgh team, reporting to our Scotland Director, Matt.

How you’ll be shaping history everyday:

  • Communications Lead: You’ll be the lead point of contact for all matters specific to your partnerships, getting to know our partners inside out. You’ll understand their needs, vision, and audiences. You’ll be their go-to, leading all communications on all things project related such as briefs, approval process, feedback, sign off and more.
  • Project Lead: You’ve got the reins on projects of different sizes. You’ll create and manage meeting agenda and timelines, lead on partner and team meetings, keep a close eye on budgets, and make sure deadlines are hit. You’ll troubleshoot problems, present solutions and keep things running smoothly.
  • Shape History Collective (freelancers network): You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end outsourcing process, leading the daily comms with freelancers, from writing briefs to managing their deadlines.
  • Budgets/Finances:  Manage your projects’ production budget and profitability, making sure all external costs and receipts are tracked, flag any changes to the invoice timeline and we’re not going beyond the agreed scope.
  • Creativity & ideation: Alongside our Edinburgh team, you will think differently, brainstorming bold, innovative ideas to propose to partners to drive impact.
  • Strategic thinking: Stay focused on the big picture when delivering work for our partners. This includes prioritising outcomes over outputs & support in setting strategies with clear actions and measurement.
  • Copywriting: You know what makes a good, engaging story and narrative.  Day to day, you’ll write clear, concise copy for a range of different mediums and voices – from ads, press releases, opinion pieces, thought articles for websites, to creative content such as graphics

Our team are full of campaigners who genuinely want to create an impact in society. We see the agency as a place for individual and collective evolution. We therefore put an emphasis on training for the team and ensure that everyone can be their full self when coming into the office.

WHY JOIN OUR TEAM?

We put the individuals in the Shape History team at the heart of every decision that is made. Here are just *some* of the reasons we think you should join the team.

We run our own internal campaigns to build passion projects with no restrictions. We also have the History Shaper Fund, a public fund that offers grants to young people.

We commit time and financial resources into the two strands of the programme - History Shaper Campaigns and the History Shaper Fund.

We understand that people work best at different times in the day, and either at home or in the office so we're super flexible!

4x per year, the full team comes together to take part in workshops, activities and socials. Previous team days have included axe throwing (not at each other), graffiti spraying and team challenges around London. We also celebrate our values by hosting a Culture afternoon once per quarter.

Each team member is entitled to 24 days of holiday plus a Christmas shutdown period and bank holidays. During Summer months, you finish early on Fridays.

We think that the team has a vitamin C deficiency because the amount of fruit they devour during Monday huddles is ridiculous. Enjoy that, as well as prosecco Thursdays!

Our main priority is our team and the culture that runs throughout the agency. We put emphasis on working with team members to unfold their individual and unique potential.

We value our mental health and think it’s healthy to talk about it at work. That’s why we've partnered with Sanctus, so you can book a 50-minute coaching session each month.

We don’t shy away from talking about money at SH - we actively encourage it! We ask each team member to conduct a self reflective assessment involving writing a salary proposal for the year ahead. We also offer both company and personal bonuses!

For those who menstruate, it’s shitty enough to have to deal with the pain, not to mention the cost. That’s why we offer paid sick days to curl up in bed. We also offer sustainable, zero chemical period products whilst you’re in the office.

We have signed up to the UK government’s cycle to work scheme. We've also partnered with loveelectric - a B Corp with a focus on solely electric cars.
