Mid-Weight Brand and UX Designer

Essential Skills

  • A confident, organised individual with the ability to multitask and communicate with multiple stakeholders.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in a mid / senior design role.
  • To be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of behavioural design.
  • Have a clear process and an excellent understanding of brand implementation.
  • Responsive, comprehensive and detailed project management, with the ability to be autonomous in your work.
  • Full and in-depth understanding of the Adobe CC and related programs.
  • Must be able to effectively independently project manage workflows and oversee other team members when required.
  • Proven and comprehensive portfolio of work with references / testimonials.
  • A firm passion to make a positive impact in society.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of film, animation and other multi-media workflows relating to design.
  • Knowledge of persona mapping and audience data strategy as it pertains to design.

The Role

We’re on the search for a full time Senior Brand and UX Designer with 4+ years’ experience looking to enhance their creative skills in a fast growing, purpose-led agency. This is a fantastic opportunity to have the creative freedom to ideate and design brands with a social good purpose.

Day-to-day work

  • Supporting the Associate Creative Director with day to day creative tasks.
  • Supporting brainstorms with the full team to inspire new ideas to fuel social change using digital and print media.
  • Use strategic and behavioural analysis to inform brand design.
  • Develop multi-platform design workflows for new or existing brands. 
  • Working closely with our web developers to deliver branded  UX / UI behavioural design.
  • Ideate, design and develop wireframes and page designs for websites with varying degrees of complexity. 
  • Manage digital design workflows and implement briefs to a schedule.
  • Lead on development of designs that are innovative and intuitive, ensuring brand consistency and quality throughout.
  • Managing and organising your own tasks, updating our Campaign Planners on when they will receive certain assets.
  • Ensuring all client feedback is implemented to the highest quality and running through this with them during meetings.
  • Confidently making creative suggestions to improve pieces of work to our clients.
  • Overseeing and providing feedback to our Digital Creatives to improve their quality of work.

Salary:  £28,000-32,000 pro rata based on experience

Marketing Strategist

Essential Skills

  • A confident, organised individual, with 2-3 years’ work experience.
  • A very good understanding of how to navigate your way around social media platforms and how to create new accounts and optimise new audiences (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).
  • A firm passion to make a positive impact in society.
  • With a creative flair, you will have good written skills, understanding how to communicate to multiple audiences.
  • Good multi-tasker, communicating with multiple stakeholders and managing different tasks at once.

Preferred Skills

  • Good understanding of how to use the backend of WordPress CMS.
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop/Indesign.
  • Experience with writing press releases.
  • Good understanding of how to sell news stories into press.

The role

We’re on the search for a bubbly, ambitious, extrovert looking to support our Senior Leadership Team in building the Shape History brand by developing the Marketing function of the agency. This role will primarily focus on building brand awareness through digital marketing, although will also require the confident attitude to be able sell the brand into press. As a result, applicants should embody a “can-do” attitude and be prepared to get stuck in with all aspects of one of the most exciting agencies in the world.

Day to day work:

  • Manage all social media channels, posting daily and engaging with existing and growing brand awareness with new audiences. 
  • Create basic digital content (graphics/quote-cards/GIFs) to support social media engagement. 
  • Work with our Digital Marketing Specialist, Associate Strategy Director and the Managing Directors to develop and implement a social media strategy that compliments the organisational growth strategy.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cross-channel communications plan and content calendar.
  • Take ownership of the Shape History Blog, scheduling weekly OpEds with team members and external guest writers. Equally, writing blogs yourself for the website (if you’d like to do so!).
  • Identify new opportunities for thought leadership content and building Shape History’s profile both in traditional press and digital media. 
  • Manage website updates with the Digital Team, keeping all content updated including case studies, language, job posts and imagery. 
  • Build momentum around campaign/project launches by producing announcement posts, selling into press and posting on social media. 
  • Brainstorm and implement new creative ways of building the Shape History brand. (E.g. accelerating the growth of a podcast series with guest speakers). 
  • Proactively build relationships with the press, journalists, thought leaders and other partners that will increase the amplification of the Shape History brand.
  • Attend external events to represent Shape History and seek out speaking opportunities for team members, particularly from the Senior Leadership Team. 
  • Liaise with and organise inspirational monthly speakers as part of our Lunchtime Conversations Sessions.
  • Responsible for monthly (and ad hoc) e-marketing campaigns via MailChimp. 
  • Work directly with the Founder (max 1/day/week) to support building publicity for new book launch.
  • Plan & execute small-scale events to bring together our partners and the Shape History community. 
  • Support with the launch of annual Impact Report by creating publicity opportunities.

Remuneration: £25,000-30,000 pro rata based on experience
